India's VA Tech sees best day in almost a month as qtrly profit rises

** Shares of water treatment equipment maker VA Tech Wabag
Ltd  VATE.NS  rise as much as 6.9% to 297 rupees, their biggest
intra-day pct gain since Sept. 19
    ** Co posted a 78% rise in Sept-qtr consol net profit to
466.7 million rupees ($5.75 million) on Friday, from 262.2 mln

    ** Consol rev from ops rose 9.7% to 7.50 bln rupees, with
supply chain and project activities getting normalized to
pre-COVID levels, co said in a statement
    ** Operating margins continued to improve driven by
international and engineering and procurement projects, it added
    ** More than 660,000 shares traded as of 0625 GMT, 4 times
their 30-day moving avg of 164,456 shares
    ** Shares down 10.2% YTD, as of last close
