US Cash Grains-Soy basis bids mostly flat, favorable US rain expected
US Cash Grains-Soy basis bids mostly flat, favorable US rain expected CHICAGO, July 30 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for soybeans were largely flat on Thursday at grain elevators and processors across the U.S. Midwest, grain merchants said.
The soybean basis dropped by 5 cents per bushel at a major processor in Decatur, Illinois, and was unchanged elsewhere. Corn basis bids also held steady.
Rain is expected to provide much-needed moisture to crops in the U.S. Midwest in the coming days, analysts said.
The forecasts for improved weather weighed on soybean Sv1 and corn Cv1 futures at the Chicago Board of Trade.
Domestic and export demand remained solid for U.S. soybeans, analysts said.
U.S. biofuel imports are not rising quickly enough to help the industry comply with the Environmental Protection Agency's renewable fuel blending mandates, as imports no longer benefit from key U.S. tax incentives, a Valero Energy VLO.N executive said.
