Adds detail on two discoveries in paragraphs 1-6
COPENHAGEN, March 10 (Reuters) - Norway's Equinor EQNR.OL said on Tuesday it had discovered oil in the so-called Troll area and gas and condensate in the Sleipner area in the North Sea.
"Both discoveries are considered commercial and were made in areas with well-developed infrastructure for export to Europe," Equinor said in a statement.
The oil find with INPEX Idemitsu 1605.T in the Byrding C prospect in the Troll area is estimated to contain between 4 million and 8 million barrels of oil equivalent, Equinor said.
Equinor is the operator and owns 75% of the permit, while INPEX Idemitsu owns the remaining 25%.
Meanwhile, the discovery in the well northwest of the Sleipner Vest field is estimated to contain between 5 million and 9 million barrels of oil equivalent of gas and condensate, the company said.
Equinor is also the operator of the Sleipner field and owns 58.3%, while Poland's Orlen PKN.WA owns 24.4% and Var Energi VAR.OL holds the remaining 17.2%.
