Ventia Services Group lifts on Australian Department of Defence deals

** Shares of Australia's Ventia Services Group VNT.AX rise as much as 4.6% to A$5.23, their biggest pct gain since April 10

** Essential infrastructure services provider says it has been awarded two Base Transformation Services packages by the Australian Department of Defence worth A$2.7 billion ($1.78 billion)

** Contract for an initial term of six years, with two extension options ranging from one to three years each - VNT

** Co says it will deliver living and working services in the Northern Territory, Victoria and Tasmania and property and asset services in Western Australia, Victoria and Tasmania

** Around 4.3 mln shares change hands, nearly 2.5x 30-day average

** VNT, YTD up 40.4%
