May 13 (Reuters) - Biofuels producer Verbio VBKG.DE reported a clearly higher core profit for the third quarter of its financial year on Wednesday, driven by increased biomethane production and customers seeking to meet their greenhouse gas quotas.
The German company reported third-quarter earnings before interest, taxes and depreciation and amortisation of 60.2 million euros ($70.6 million), compared with 30.1 million euros in the second quarter and 8.2 million euros a year ago.
Analysts from Deutsche Bank had expected the EBITDA to be 52 million euros in the quarter through March.
