Verona Pharma gains as USFDA to review lung disease therapy

** U.S.-listed shares of UK-based Verona Pharma  VRNA.O 
up 3.2% at $20.29
    ** Co says U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has
accepted to review its marketing application for experimental
lung disease therapy ensifentrine
    ** VRNA says FDA will decide on the use of the therapy by
June 26, 2024 
     ** Co is seeking approval for use of the therapy to treat
COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which causes
airflow blockage and breathing-related problems 
    ** VRNA's application to the U.S. health regulator includes
data from a late-stage study in which treatment with 
ensifentrine showed 36% reduction in COPD exacerbations that
cause irreversible lung damage
    ** As of last close, VRNA U.S.-listed shares were down ~20%
