Verona Pharma up after Regeneron's drug shows promise in lung disease study

** U.S.-listed shares of Verona Pharma  VRNA.O  up ~3% at
$20.02 
    ** Regeneron Pharmaceuticals  REGN.O  reports positive data
from a late-stage study of Dupixent in chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease (COPD), which Piper Sandler says "bodes
positively" for VRNA shares
    ** Dupixent led to a 30% reduction in acute exacerbations of
COPD in the study
    ** Brokerage believes this is a "major win" for the COPD
space, adds that potential entry of another novel product in the
market "increases the opportunity for COPD therapies altogether"
    ** In December, Verona's experimental lung disease therapy,
ensifentrine, met main goal in late-stage study to treat COPD,
with statistically significant improvements in lung function
    ** COPD is a potentially deadly disease marked by
progressive lung function decline
    ** U.S.-listed VRNA shares down ~23% YTD
