** Shares of Verrica Pharmaceuticals  VRCA.O  rise 24.5% to
$6.56 premarket
    ** Co announces positive preliminary results from part 2 of
its mid-stage study testing its experimental skin cancer
treatment 
    ** Co says treatment VP-315 had an overall reduction of
tumor size of 86% in all patients 
    ** Says VP-315 was well-tolerated with no serious adverse
events
    ** Co expects immune response data in Q1 of 2025 and plans
to request a meeting with the FDA to determine next steps
    ** Co separately reports Q2 total revenue of $5.2 mln,
compared with $182,000 a year ago
    ** Reports Q2 net product revenue of $4.9 mln on delivery of
its skin infection treatment Ycanth to its primary distribution
partner
    ** Up to last close, stock down 28% YTD
