Wall Street's main indexes declined on Tuesday as investors tried to navigate the uncertainty surrounding U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs, while awaiting the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision this week. .N

At  13:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.77% at 40,905.65.The S&P 500 .SPX was down 0.66% at 5,613.57, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was down 0.80% at 17,701.83.
