Spain's Vidrala appoints CFO Gomez as CEO

MADRID, March 27 (Reuters) - Spain's Vidrala  VID.MC 
has appointed Chief Financial Officer Raul Gomez as CEO
effective from June 30, the consumer packaging firm said on
Wednesday. 
    The board will consider outgoing CEO Gorka Schmitt, who led
the company for 13 years, be proposed to serve as a board
member, the company said. 
    The firm also proposed an extraordinary dividend of 4 euros 
($4.33) a share, providing the announced deal to sell its
Italian unit is completed. 
    ($1 = 0.9237 euros)
