The S&P 500 and the Dow rose in choppy trading on Wednesday as banks and energy
shares gained, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq came under pressure after inflation
data cemented expectations of aggressive interest rate hikes. .N 
    
    At 14:00 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.93% at
31,863.1. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 1.14% at 3,955.61 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was down 2.82% at 11,406.194.
