Oil companies rise on Middle East supply concerns

** Shares of oil and gas companies rise premarket, tracking
crude prices  O/R 
    ** Brent crude  LCOc1  up 1.1% at $78.43/bbl and U.S. West
Texas Intermediate crude  CLc1  up 1.4% at $73.23/bbl, as Middle
East supply concerns arising from the Israel-Hamas war and the
shutdown of a top Libyan oilfield lifted crude prices
    ** Energy majors Exxon Mobil  XOM.N  and Chevron  CVX.N 
each up 0.4%
    ** Marathon Oil  MRO.N , Devon Energy  DVN.N , SM Energy
 SM.N  and Vital Energy  VTLE.N  up between 0.4% and 1.9%
    ** Oilfield services firms SLB  SLB.N  and Halliburton
 HAL.N  gain 0.6% and 0.1%, respectively
