Lower Saxony state premier welcomes German-French auto deal BERLIN, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Lower Saxony state premier Olaf Lies, who sits on Volkswagen's supervisory board, welcomed the agreement between Germany and France on an auto industry deal.
He called it a strong signal for Europe's car sector that safeguards jobs at manufacturers, suppliers and plants in Lower Saxony. The compromise would also strengthen future markets such as batteries and green steel, he said on Friday.
