German car lobby sees EU auto deal as step but wants changes BERLIN, Oct 16 (Reuters) - The head of Germany's VDA auto industry association, Hildegard Mueller, said on Friday that the German-French car agreement was an important step but still fell short in key areas for industry, jobs and climate.
She called for later battery localisation in Europe, better rules for trucks, buses and light vans, stronger use of renewable fuels and green materials and rejected binding company fleet quotas.
