Volkswagen workers threaten strikes unless carmaker reverses labour deal cancellations
Volkswagen workers threaten strikes unless carmaker reverses labour deal cancellations FRANKFURT, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Labour leaders on Friday threatened strikes at Volkswagen VOWG.DE from January unless it reverses the recent cancellation of several wage deals by the end of October, making a full-escalation of labour disputes at Europe's top automaker more likely.
Thorsten Groeger of trade union IG Metall said unions would prepare for "industrial action" - a term usually covering strikes - unless Volkswagen rows back.
A truce that rules out strikes at the automaker expires on January 1, 2027.
