India's Voltamp Transformers rises on Sept-qtr profit jump

** Shares of Voltamp Transformers Ltd  VOTL.NS  rise as much
as 7.4% to 3,040 rupees, highest since Nov. 9
    ** The electrical transformers manufacturer on Thursday
posted a 31% rise in net profit of 459.4 million rupees ($5.69
million) for the quarter ended Sept. 30 
    ** VOTL also reported a 21% rise in revenue from operations
to 3.18 billion rupees for the same period
    ** About 23,893 shares change hands by 0650 GMT vs 30-day
avg of 15,365 shares
    ** Stock up 42.2% so far this year, as of last close
($1 = 80.7975 Indian rupees)
