Voyager Therapeutics rises on deal with Novartis to develop gene therapy candidates

** Shares of Voyager Therapeutics  VYGR.O  rise 35.9% to
$11.70 premarket
    ** Co enters license agreement and strategic collaboration
with Novartis Pharma AG  NOVN.S  to develop potential gene
therapy candidates
    ** NOVN to pay the co an upfront payment of $100 mln,
including a $20 mln purchase of newly issued equity in Voyager
    ** NOVN and VYGR will collaborate to advance a preclinical
gene therapy candidate for Huntington's disease that causes the
progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain
    ** VYGR is eligible to receive up to $1.2 bln in milestone
payments
    ** NOVN to gain access to co's RNA-based screening platform,
TRACER capsid
    ** VYGR rose 38.3% in 2023
