Regional bank WaFd rises after raising share buyback authorization

** Shares of regional bank WaFd  WAFD.O  rise as much as
3.5%, last up 3.3% at $29.69
    ** Late on Tuesday, WAFD increased the number of shares
authorized for repurchase by 10 mln, bringing the currently
authorized amount up to 11.8 mln shares
    ** KBW analysts say the increased repurchase authorization
is a sign of the board's continued confidence in WAFD's outlook
    ** As of last close, WAFD shares were down 12.8% YTD
