South Korea's Doosan Bobcat in talks to buy Wacker Neuson

Dec 2 (Reuters) - Wacker Neuson WACGn.DE said on Tuesday that South Korea's Doosan Bobcat 241560.KS was in talks to buy a majority stake in the German construction equipment maker.

Doosan Bobcat, a unit of Korean conglomerate Doosan 000150.KS, is in "advanced discussions" over an acquisition of around 63% of Wacker Neuson’s shares from major shareholders and a launch of a public all-cash takeover offer to remaining shareholders, the German company said.

Shares in Wacker Neuson jumped 24.5% to 23.50 euros per share as of 1329 GMT, on track for their biggest one-day gain ever, after it confirmed the interest that was first reported by Bloomberg News.
