** Shares of Brickworks  BKW.AX  rise as much as 1.5% to
A$26.930, their highest since May 20
    ** Stock posts its biggest intraday percentage gain since
June 3
    ** Brick maker says Todd Barlow, CEO and Managing Director
of investment manager Washington H. Soul Pattinson and Company
 SOL.AX  joined its board as a non-executive director
    ** Says SOL holds a 43% interest in BKW
    ** Also announces appointment of non-executive director
Malcolm Bundey as its deputy chair
    ** Stock down 5.1% YTD, based on last close
