Notice of AGM

 

Watkin Jones plc (AIM:WJG), the UK's leading developer and manager of residential for rent, with a focus on the build to rent and student accommodation sectors, announces that electronic copies of its Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 30 September 2020, together with the Notice of Annual General Meeting and Form of Proxy, will be available from the Company's investor relations website at www.watkinjonesplc.com on Wednesday, 27 January 2021 . Hard copies of the 2020 Annual Report and Financial Statements, Notice of Annual General Meeting and Form of Proxy will be posted to shareholders today.

 

The Annual General Meeting will be held at 10.30am on Friday, 19 February 2021. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the current legislation and guidance issued by the UK Government, the Board has decided that the AGM will be held as a 'closed' meeting with the minimum number of Directors and officers who hold shares present to form the necessary quorum. Unfortunately, other shareholders will not be permitted to attend the meeting in person.

 

The Company intends to broadcast the AGM live via a webcast with shareholders having the opportunity to submit questions prior to the meeting.

 

If shareholders wish to attend the AGM or submit questions to the Board, please contact Buchanan via watkinjones@buchanan.uk.com no later than 10.30am on Wednesday, 17 February 2021. There will be no facility to ask questions live at the AGM, however the Board will endeavour to answer any questions that have been submitted in advance. When registering or submitting questions you will be required to provide details including your investor code to verify your identity.

 

Shareholders are strongly encouraged to submit a Form of Proxy appointing the Chair of the meeting as their proxy and giving instructions as to how they wish their votes to be cast. Whilst shareholders are entitled to appoint a proxy other than the Chairman, the Company's decision to hold a closed meeting means that the appointment of any proxy other than the Chairman would result in the votes not being able to be cast. Details of how to submit votes can be found in the Notice of AGM. The deadline for Forms of Proxy to be received is 10.30am on Wednesday, 17 February 2021.
