Aussie energy stocks hit 2-year high on firmer oil prices

** Australian energy  .AXEJ  stocks jump up to nearly 2% to
hit their highest levels since Feb 2020 
    ** AXEJ among the top gainers in the ASX 200 benchmark
 .AXJO 
    ** The sub-index jumped on firm oil prices as concerns about
supply due to a potential European Union ban on Russian oil came
to the fore, days after diminished supplies from Libya rocked
the markets  O/R 
    ** Fuel supplier Viva Energy  VEA.AX  advanced up to nearly
6% to hit a high and led the gains on the sub-index after the co
said group volumes for first quarter were up 9%  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nASM0008C4
    ** Heavyweights Woodside Petroleum  WPL.AX  and Santos
 STO.AX  were up 0.8% and 1.6%, respectively
    ** AXEJ up 10.6% this year, as of last close
