** Shares of Australia's Viva Energy  VEA.AX  rise as much
as 2.6% to A$3.190, their highest levels since July 15
    ** Stock on track to record second consecutive day of gains,
if trend holds
    ** The energy firm posts HY group fuel sales up 5.7% over
same period last year
    ** Group records HY total sales volumes of 8,277 ML vs 7,828
ML in PCP
    ** Sees unaudited H1 FY24 EBITDA to be between A$445 mln
($291.96 mln) and A$455 mln
    ** Near 1.2 mln shares change hands, vs 30-day average
volume of 5.4 mln shares
    ** Stock down 10.9% YTD, as of last close
