Australia's Web Travel hits near 5-1/2-year low after Spanish unit gets tax audit notice

** Shares of Digital travel co Web Travel WEB.AX fall as much as 41.1% to A$2.475, their lowest level since early August 2020

** Co says its Spanish unit is being audited by Spain's tax agency in relation to direct taxes for the period April 2021 to March 2024 and indirect taxes for the period Jan 2022 to Dec 2025

** Shares last down 29%, on track for worst day since October 2024 if moves hold

** Stock is the top loser on the benchmark

** About 14.8 mln shares change hands, 10.6x the 30-day average of 1.4 mln; busiest session since mid-October 2024

** Stock down 39.1% YTD
