Australian tech stocks set for best day in more than a month

** Australian technology sub-index  .AXIJ  climbs as much as
2.8%, set for best day since Dec. 14, if gains hold
    ** Sub-index hits highest level since Jan. 3, and is set for
second straight weekly gain
    ** AXIJ tracks Wall Street gains from overnight, where the
S&P 500 approached record highs as AI optimism drove gains in
chipmakers  .N 
    ** Semiconductor IP co Weebit Nano  WBT.AX  rises as much as
5.9%
    ** Xero  XRO.AX  jumps 4% to its highest since Nov. 9 and
WiseTech Global  WTC.AX  rises 2.9%
    ** AXIJ gained 30.4% in 2023
