Sean Fitzgerald to join Weir as ESCO President

 ●    Sean Fitzgerald to join Weir as ESCO President on 1 December 2022
 ●    Sean will succeed Andrew Neilson, who, as previously announced, will be
      appointed President of Minerals Division following the retirement of Ricardo
      Garib at end of 2022

The Weir Group PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Fitzgerald
as President of its ESCO Division. Sean will join Weir on 1 December 2022 and
will be a member of the Group Executive.

Sean is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Maersk Container Industry,
the Copenhagen-based container manufacturing business of the transport and
logistics company, A.P. Moeller - Maersk.

He has a wealth of mining experience and a proven track record of leading
global industrial businesses. Since joining MCI as Chief Executive Officer in
2018, Sean has led a turnaround in financial performance and driven major
improvements in safety and employee engagement. Prior to MCI, Sean spent seven
years at Komatsu Mining Corporation (formerly Joy Global), firstly as Regional
Vice President, Americas before moving to China as President for the China
Region.

Sean is American and, as well as living in China, most recently he has been
based in Copenhagen, Denmark. On joining Weir, he will be based in Portland,
USA.

Sean will succeed Andrew Neilson as President of ESCO. As previously
announced, Andrew will move to the role of President of Weir's Minerals
Division succeeding Ricardo Garib who is retiring from Weir at the end of 2022
following 42 years' service. Sean will work together with Andrew and Ricardo
in a transition period over the balance of the year.

Biography

Sean Fitzgerald will join Weir on 1 December 2022 from A.P. Moeller Maersk
where he is currently Chief Executive Officer of Maersk Container Industry
(MCI). He started his career as an Officer in the US Army. After the Army,
Sean joined Bain & Company followed by nearly ten years with General
Electric (GE) as the GM of Onshore Wind Turbines.  Sean left GE in 2011 to
join Komatsu Mining Corporation (formerly Joy Global) as the Americas'
Regional Vice President for Underground Mining and later as President for the
China Region before joining MCI in 2018. Sean holds a BS in Civil Engineering,
MA in Economics and MBA.
