Close period buy-back programme
WH Smith PLC (the "Company") announces that it has entered into an irrevocable and non-discretionary arrangement with its broker, Barclays Bank PLC, acting through its investment bank, to repurchase on its behalf and within certain pre-set parameters, ordinary shares in the Company for cancellation during the Company's close period commencing on 1 September 2015 and ending on the day of the announcement of the Company's Preliminary Results on 15 October 2015. This arrangement is in accordance with Chapter 12 of the UKLA Listing Rules and the Company's general authority to repurchase shares.
