Oct 16 (Reuters) - UK's Whitbread WTB.L said on Thursday its forward bookings are ahead of last year in both the UK and Germany after the hotel and restaurant operator posted a 7% drop in half-year profit due to lower food and beverage sales.
The company posted an adjusted pretax profit of 316 million pounds ($423.95 million) for the six months ended August 28, compared with 340 million pounds a year earlier.
