Further to the announcement by Debenhams PLC earlier today, Whitbread PLC announces that Sir Ian Cheshire, Senior Independent Director of Whitbread PLC, has today been appointed as a non-executive director and Chairman-elect of Debenhams PLC. He will become Chairman of Debenhams PLC on 7 April 2016.
