WHITBREAD APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
 
Whitbread PLC (the "Company") is pleased to announce that Frank Fiskers is to be appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 February 2019. Frank will become a member of Whitbread's Audit Committee.
Until 2017, Frank Fiskers was Chief Executive of Scandic Hotels AB ("Scandic"), and is currently a Non-Executive Director of Scandic and of Shurgard Self Storage SA.  He is also an industrial advisor to EQT Partners.  Frank has over 35 years of extensive experience in the hospitality industry through the previous roles that he has held as Chief Executive of Scandic, and in senior positions with Radisson SAS, Hilton Worldwide, Azure Properties and First Hotels in Europe and Africa.  Frank will also step down as a Non-Executive Director of Scandic.
Commenting on the appointment, Adam Crozier, Chairman, said "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Frank Fiskers as a Non-Executive Director.  Through his wealth of experience in the hotel industry, Frank's expertise will be of great value to the Whitbread Board as we continue to expand Premier Inn in the UK and internationally.".
