** Shares of furniture retailers decline after President Donald Trump announced late on Friday "a major tariff investigation on furniture" coming into U.S.

** In post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said investigation will be completed within next 50 days and furniture imports will be tariffed at rate not yet specified

** Luxury furniture retailer RH RH.N slides 7.1% to $226.4; online furniture retailer Wayfair W.N declines 8.2% to $71.5

** Pottery Barn owner Williams-Sonoma WSM.N down 2.8% to $197.7, among top decliners on S&P 500 .SPX

** Home improvement chains Home Depot HD.N and Lowe's LOW.N fall 0.9% and 1.4%, respectively
