INDIA STOCKS-Indian shares open flat after foreign outflows Updates for markets open
Sept 30 (Reuters) - Indian shares were flat on Wednesday as a rebound in most sectors after a two-day selloff was offset by sustained foreign selling, with the absence of a US-Iran peace deal keeping risk sentiment fragile.
The Nifty 50 .NSEI fell 0.06% to 22,702.9, while the BSE Sensex .BSESN added 0.13% to 72,605.07, as of 9:20 a.m. IST. The indexes have fallen about 1.8% each in the last two sessions.
Twelve of the 16 major sectors advanced. The broader small-caps .NIFSMCP100 and mid-caps .NIFMDCP100 added 1% and 0.9%, respectively.
Foreign investors net sold shares worth 99.8 billion rupees ($1.04 billion) on Tuesday, marking their biggest outflow in about four months. They have offloaded $2.7 billion of shares in September, taking the year-to-date selling to $26.75 billion.
Brent crude futures LCOc1 rose 1% to $103.7 a barrel after US President Donald Trump denied he would be willing to ease sanctions on Iran.
