** Australian technology stocks .AXIJ rise as much as 2.2%, their highest level since June 10
** Wall Street's tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite .IXIC gained 2.59% overnight, with chip stocks surging and the Philadelphia Semiconductor index .SOX rising 6.6% .N
** Xero XRO.AX adds 1.5%, while WiseTech Global WTC.AX surges 3.4% 
** YTD, sub-index down nearly 13%
