JANUARY 2022 TRAFFIC AND CO2 EMISSION STATISTICS

 

WIZZ AIR CARRIED 2,397,000 PASSENGERS

Geneva, 2 February 2022: Wizz Air Holdings Plc ("Wizz Air"), the
fastest-growing European airline, today announces passenger and CO(2) emission
statistics for January 2022.

 

In January 2022, Wizz Air carried 2,397,000 passengers at a load factor of
79.6%, representing a 318% increase compared with January 2021. Wizz Air
continued to grow its network and improve its customer offering as follows:

 

·      Wizz Air launched its ' Wizz Air - Fly the Greenest' campaign
aimed to raise awareness of Wizz Air's industry leading position as the
greenest choice of air travel.

·      Wizz Air announced that it received the 3(rd) youngest aircraft
fleet position worldwide and youngest aircraft fleet position in Europe, in
the category of airlines with 100 or more aircraft in their fleet from
Ch-aviation.

·      Wizz Air announced a new car rental reward scheme with Green
Motion through their partnership with Rentalcars.com, one of the world's
leading online car rental platforms. As part of Wizz Air's continued
commitment to sustainability, travellers will receive up to a 10% cashback
reward when choosing  to rent an electric or hybrid vehicle via Green Motion,
a world-leading provider of lower carbon emissions car rental options.

·      Wizz Air continuously operates amongst the lowest CO(2) emissions
per passenger/km amongst all competitor airlines, with 64.4 grams per
passenger/km for the rolling 12 months to 31 January 2022. For the month of
January, CO(2) emissions in grams per passenger/km were 24.4% lower compared
to same month last year, as we witness an improvement in load factors over
same time.
