OCTOBER 2022 TRAFFIC AND CO2 EMISSION STATISTICS

 

WIZZ AIR CARRIED 4.5 MILLION PASSENGERS, AN INCREASE OF 52% YEAR-ON-YEAR

Geneva, 2 November 2022: Wizz Air Holdings Plc ("Wizz Air"), the
fastest-growing and one of the most sustainable European airlines, today
announces passenger and CO(2) emission statistics for October 2022.

 

In October 2022, Wizz Air carried 4,528,592 passengers, representing a 52.1%
increase compared to October 2021, at a load factor of 87.8%.

 

Wizz Air continued to grow its network and improve its customer offering in
October, including:

 

·      Wizz Air UK announced a mixture of year-round and seasonal routes
launching from October 2022 onwards, with four routes from London Luton, and
five from Gatwick Airport.

·      Wizz Air UK has also celebrated carrying a total of 15 million
passengers on its routes from London Luton Airport since the opening of the
base in 2017. Since that time, Wizz Air UK has continued to expand at the
airport, and now operates 69 routes to 30 countries in Europe and beyond.

·      Wizz Air celebrated the arrival of its 170th Airbus aircraft. The
arrival of new A321neo strengthens Wizz Air's position as the largest operator
of this aircraft type in Europe.

·      Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has launched an exciting new route from Abu
Dhabi to the ancient city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan and has also operated its
first flight to Maldives, a famous traveler hotspot.

·      Wizz Air continuously operates amongst the lowest CO(2) emissions
per passenger/km amongst all competitor airlines, with 56.9 grams per
passenger/km for the rolling 12 months to 31 October 2022. For the month of
October CO(2) emissions were 54.1 grams per passenger/km (12.2% lower compared
to same month last year).
