Proposed Change of Company Name
Obtala Resources Limited (AIM:OBT), the African focused agricultural and forestry company, is pleased to announce the Board of Directors' intention to change the name of the Company, in accordance with Section 25(2) of the Companies (Guernsey) Law, 2008 (as amended), from Obtala Resources Limited to Obtala Limited.
This will be proposed as a Special Resolution at the Company's AGM which will be held at the Company's registered office; Dixcart House, Sir William Place, St Peter Port, Guernsey GY1 1GX. The date of the meeting is still to be confirmed but will be no less than 30 days from the release of the audited annual accounts for the Group.
Commenting on today's announcement, Miles Pelham, Chairman of Obtala, said: "As the Company cements its medium-term plans around our two core business lines of Agriculture and Forestry it is important that we avoid any confusion regarding our strategy. By removing 'Resources' from the Company name we avoid any misunderstanding regarding our core business lines thereby allowing present and future stakeholders to correctly identify our strategy. If approved by shareholders, rebranding as 'Obtala Limited' affords us the opportunity to refocus our energies on a regular and thorough dialogue with the investment community and I look forward to enhancing that dialogue via a complete overhaul of our website this summer."
