The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrials Average rose on Wednesday, helped by
upbeat housing data and a gain for bank stocks driven by rising Treasury yields,
while a drop in Microsoft pressured the tech-heavy Nasdaq.  .N 
    At 12:38 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.71 percent at
26,432.01. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.09 percent at 2,906.84 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.40 percent at 7,924.251.
