U.S. stocks were flat on Tuesday as the boost from energy sector and strong
consumer confidence data helped offset losses in chipmakers and rate-sensitive
shares ahead of an expected Federal Reserve interest rate hike .N
At 13:46 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.18 percent
at 26,515.56. The S&P 500 .SPX was down 0.15 percent at 2,914.9 and the Nasdaq
Composite .IXIC was up 0.09 percent at 8,000.086.
