BUENOS AIRES, April 13 (Reuters) - Argentina's state oil company YPF has awarded U.S. oilfield services provider Halliburton HAL.N a contract for long-term unconventional well completion in the South American country, Halliburton said.
• The deal includes hydraulic stimulation in the Vaca Muerta shale formation for five years, involving four fracturing sets, a source close to the negotiations told Reuters.
• Halliburton also said it will deploy its Zeus electric fracturing services internationally.
• Zeus is a high-intensity hydraulic fracturing system capable of pumping higher volumes, flow rates, and pressures from the outset, Halliburton said.
• The U.S provider didn't specify the quantity of the "multimillion-dollar" contract.
• Vaca Muerta, located in Argentina's Patagonian region, holds the world's fourth-largest shale oil reserve.
• The formation also contains the world's second-largest unconventional natural gas reserve.
