Poland - Factors to Watch October 29

WARSAW, Oct 29 (Reuters) - The following are significant news stories, press reports and events on Wednesday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland: GMT + 1 hour):

POLLS

Poland's ruling Civic Coalition is supported by 30.4% of respondents, while the largest opposition party, Law and Justice (PiS), is supported by 27.6%, Rzeczpospolita daily reported quoting an IBRiS poll. Third place goes to the far-right Confederation, supported by 15% of respondents.

SANTANDER BANK POLSKA

Santander Bank Polska SPL1.WA on Wednesday reported better-than-expected net profit in the third quarter, helped by growth in net interest income and net fee and commission income.

ORLEN

Since the beginning of this year, the market value of Orlen PKN.WA, Poland's largest fuel company, has risen by 125%.

Analysts said that the factor contributing to this increase was the ongoing destruction of Russian refineries by Ukrainian drones, which is limiting Russian exports and positively impacting the financial results of global oil companies, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.

AMMUNITION FACTORY

Construction of a 155 mm artillery ammunition case factory will begin in Krasnik, southeastern Poland. The plant being built there is one of three ammunition factories planned to be built by companies belonging to the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), Rzeczpospolita daily reported.

ZABKA

Polish convenience store chain Zabka ZAB.WA on Tuesday reported better-than-expected third-quarter earnings, driven by an expanding store network and sales growth.

GAZ-SYSTEM

Gas demand in Poland could increase by as much as 10 billion cubic meters within 5-6 years. Therefore, Gaz-System is considering building a second floating gas port in Gdansk, Parkiet daily reported.

DEBT

On Wednesday at 1030 the Polish Ministry of Finance will hold an auction of bonds worth 6.0-10.0 billion zlotys ($1.65 billion-$2.75 billion).
