** Amycretin showed statistically significant weight loss of up to 14.5% at 36 weeks in phase 2 trial, the drugmaker said in a statement
** It also demonstrated statistically significant reductions in HbA(1c) with up to 89.1% achieving HbA(1c) levels below 7%
** Amycretin, Novo's next-generation obesity drug, mimics the gut hormone GLP-1 like Wegovy and also copies the hunger-suppressing effect of the pancreatic hormone amylin
** Novo added it plans to initiate a phase 3 for amycretin in 2026
** Novo Nordisk share is among top risers on the pan-European STOXX 600 .STOXX index
** Shares of local peer Zealand Pharma ZELA.CO are down 5%
