Telefonica's main shareholders (Spanish sovereign fund SEPI, Spanish investment fund Criteria Caixa and Saudi telecom firm STC 7010.SE) support a plan to take over its rival in Spain Vodafone, which is owned by London-based Zegona ZEG.L, Spanish news website el Confidencial reported on Tuesday, citing unidentified sources close to the shareholders.
