Stellantis , China's Leapmotor plan to expand EV partnership, boost European production

MILAN, May 8 (Reuters) - Stellantis STLAM.MI said on Friday it would expand its partnership with China's Leapmotor 9863.HK, through manufacturing cooperation in Europe.

Under the plan, the partners are adding production of Leapmotor's B10 model a of new jointly-developed electric C‑SUV under the Opel brand at Stellantis' Zaragoza plant in Spain, as well as cooperating in part purchasing.

The two groups are also considering allocating new Leapmotor models to Stellantis' Villaverde plant near Madrid from 2028 and potentially transferring the ownership of the site to their Stellantis-led Leapmotor Iternational joint venture.
