ZOO Digital launches remote ADR services

ZOO Digital, the leading provider of end-to-end cloud-based localisation and media services to the global entertainment industry, today announces the launch of its remote Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) service to make ADR seamless and more cost-effective now and in a post-pandemic environment.

ADR is the process of re-recording original dialogue after the filming process to improve the audio quality or make changes to the originally scripted dialogue.

In recognition of the shift to remote and hybrid solutions, accelerated by global lockdowns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, ZOO Digital has created an ADR platform that facilitates recording sessions from either a studio or remote location by creating a 'virtual ADR stage'. This allows actors, directors, dialect coaches and others to work together in real-time as though they were in the same room. Third-party collaboration tools are not required which ensures the delivery of a seamless and secure ADR service.

ZOO Digital's new ADR service, which is underpinned by the same proven voice capture platform as its award-winning dubbing services, overcomes the widespread industry challenge of delivering the robust and seamless service that actors and directors need.

Demand for recording capacity is expected to increase significantly when new productions fully resume. ZOO Digital's virtual ADR stage will offer additional recording capacity to physical studios and will be crucial to helping keep production schedules on track.

Stuart Green, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"The launch of our dedicated remote ADR service is a clear demonstration of ZOO Digital's commitment to R&D and positions the business as a leading provider of end-to-end services to the entertainment industry in an expanding global market.

"Our team has built this new platform to deliver the most robust remote ADR service and support the rapidly changing requirements of our industry beyond the COVID-19 pandemic."
