Active Threads Evolution
Many of you have mentioned that the active threads page is your landing page on the site, and for that reason, you miss a lot of the content being created in the articles section.
We thought a trial run where we show new articles and article comments in the same active threads feed would be quite interesting - especially as some of you have requested it.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments under this article...
Many thanks

db... all I can say - it's all going to change over the next few months! We are still in early design discussions on this, but we are increasingly coming to the idea that every content type should be listed together in the same feed, but with the ability to filter it down to just articles, just events, just forum threads, and perhaps further down the line...audio, video and other formats.
It would significantly simplify the interface on most pages, and make it much easier to find related content! I know everyone has had to weather a large interface change already on Stockopedia... but as we are a young site, we are still relatively nimble and our opinion is that it's better to make these changes now while the traffic levels are still relatively light.
The 'active threads' and 'home' pages are likely to start to merge in their functionality... we will retain areas for editorial input, but generally - we are highly aware of what is working and what is not... and all of the visitors are voting with their feet that more of the 'active threads' kind of display is what you want.
Please do keep giving us feedback as much as possible... it's enormously helpful. We've been busy over the last 2 months with business matters, but we are starting to get a clear run at another development push, so please keep it coming.
I too like it so far.
However, just to note that it doesnt really solve the issue of the artificial distinction between threads and articles that marben raised. This will ensure that an article is more likley to be spotted when it is written (good) but still won't tackle the fundamental problem that someone looking for threads on, say, Nighthawk, will not see any articles which have been written on Nighthawk

ditto to all the above.
It seems to me that there should be ONE channel through which everything new gets "advertised" and then people can "opt out" of types of stuff they don't want to bother with (or use it to help reconfigure their favourites). Obviously this would require them to log in......
ditto - and keep the EVENTS announcements coming too, please
ditto
ditto, only ever click on active threads. If new article is not shown on that list then I am unlikely to see it.

Sounds good to me. I only ever navigate via the active threads page, so if I'm ever going to see the articles that's how I'm going to get there.
