CALM is the largest egg producer & marketer in the US with state of the art operations.
Eggs by the dozen sold in 2013/14/15 were 948M, 1.014BN & 1.063BN. Bird flue affected 40M hens last year (information from Global Consumer Conference on 10th March 2016)
Income for the same 3 years was $59M, $146M and $235M.
With strong customer base and a growing market for high margin speciality eggs.They are in a strong financial position.
They aim to pay out 1/3rd of the net income in dividends.
Net income for the same 3 years was $50M, $109M and $161M.
They have bought up other companies to boost production in egg numbers.Because of the bird flew the numbers of eggs have been increasing rapidly over the last 6 months or so.
Sales for 2015 were $1.57BN.
Having top sliced about 10% of profits a while ago another dividend gets banked.today.
They also produce their own corn and feeds for their chicken keeping costs down.
I found the conference call a bit difficult to get into but it is available for 30 days.
Personally I think it is a good solid share which is held by institutions.
