Just looked at 2 shares on Stockopedia. Confused about the Momentun rankings, first HICL shows momentum going up at 84, but 52w high is - 4.8%, 50d - 1.11%, 200d + 1.67%, 1 year + 7.5%.
Second PAG down at 65, 52w high -4.6%, 50d +1.8%, 200d +11.7%, 1 year +7%.
Struggling to see HICL momentum, if you look at the chart its going down, PAG seems to going more. IS HICL ranking correct?
The reason is that only half of the Momentum ranking is based price momentum. The other half is based on earnings momentum and both HICL and PAG have good earnings momentum.

The company is actually quite strong across the price strength factors we use. Even on a 6 month basis where relative strength is -5% the company scores more highly than 50% of the market. Basically 50% of the market has done worse than -5% in terms of Relative Strength against the All Share. Large caps have done quite well lately.
On a 1 year relative strength view the company is in the top 30% of the market, in the top 23% of the market versus its 1 year high, and top 40% of the market on a moving average basis. It's about average in terms of recent earnings surprises though it's quite poor on recent recommendation downgrades.
I know it's surprising - but such seemingly moderate factors, when taken as a combined score (in our multi-factor approach) actually put it in the top 16% of the market.
