Just thought I'd use this journal as a place to make development plans and achievements clear on Stockopedia.

So the team has worked night and day over the last 4 months or so to bring you Stockopedia 2.0 (which was built on the last year of Stockopedia 1.0's steep experiential curve).  We hope that you appreciate the effort that we've put in - some features have been left behind, and some are still in transition, but there's lots of novelty to get stuck into in the meantime...

  • Favourites  - Currently you can favourite at the 'node' level - i.e. on specific threads, articles and wikis... keep all the content you visit most frequently, or find most useful at hand in your Favourites section...  We'll be extending this (or perhaps replacing it) to run off 'terms' ... i.e. categories, tags, stocks, sectors etc etc... all you'll have to do is either click topics/categories/tags around the site or add stocks to your watchlists and we'll be building a feed of the best site content from that.  It will be coupled with the content from your followed authors... so stay tuned and watch this space!  
  • Journals & Articles -  We are firmly of the opinion that there are as many knowledgeable authors and writers in professional services or retirement as there are in pure journalism, and as old media struggles we'd like to give voice to the masses.  Use your Journal (or Blog for a better word) to create articles, and submit them to our editors using the check box if you feel they are of a high quality.  The best articles will be syndicated to Bloomberg and other aggregators - so it's worth trying!!  If you like, try uploading images and promote your business or enterprise... it's our way of giving credit where it's due.
  • Search -  we ran into a problem with the indexer over the last couple of days... so site search is down at the moment but we are using the same indexing solution as Wikipedia and Digg... so once it's up and running - fingers crossed it will find exactly what you are looking for extremely quickly... We hope by this weekend we'll have it back online.
