I've opened up a position in Centrica (LON:CNA) as it seems to be a likely UK listed winner from the rapidly shrinking energy supply landscape as poorly hedged small operators fall like dominos. I don't do shorts but Moneysupermarket.com (LON:MONY) would seem like a good short candidate as it seems likely there will be fewer energy suppliers and less consumer switching in future.

I especially like Centrica (LON:CNA) as it also has gas producing and generating assets (owns 69% of Spirit energy which paid a £400M dividend in 2019) and is on a historic low valuation having disappointed the market for years and I suspect income investors bailed out en masse when it suspended the dividend in 2020. The company has also recently disposed of a US subsidiary and has minimal net debt. CEO (the ex-CFO) says the company is "robustly hedged" with respect to gas prices, he has bought shares in the market and roughly doubled his holding in 2021. SP turnaround well overdue IMO.
