Trakm8 Holdings (LON:TRAK) H1 results presentation by John Watkins, CEO

As indicated in the AGM presentation, H1 2017 profit and cash flow is below last year. This is due to investment in R&D, sales and marketing, and acquisition integration costs; and the ongoing move by customers to a SaaS payment model. The characteristic H2 weighting is likely to be more marked this financial year, with the hope to close a couple of large high-margin software-related sales to meets FY expectations. H2 should also have an update on international expansion, including China and the USA.

Trakm8 Holdings (LON:TRAK) results are not what I was expecting to see and JW looks a bit sheepish trying to explain what's happened. Not one for me.

Thought the results were actually quite good and they are concentrating on growth over headline profit figures at the moment. Revenues up, profits down due to investments but organic growth as well as acquisitions delivering an increase in subscriber numbers. Did he really look sheepish? Not something I would base an investment decision on. Obviously would have preferred profits to be up, not way down but despite that I think it is oversold now. We've gone from too high to too low - maybe next will be just right.

Am reminded of the saying "turnover is vanity- profit is sanity" and I personally take a lot more note of profitability data. I try to glean information from wherever I can and body language can reveal a huge amount about whats going on in someones mind.

I felt John was putting a brave face on things and looking for the positives, rather than exuding the confidence of a growth story. The clasped hands and interwoven fingers show some anxiety and frustration - It might be camera nerves, but for me are a bit of a "tell". Of course DYOR.

I see Trakm8 Holdings (LON:TRAK) announced a trading update today and the price is off -30%, at the moment. I am pleased I followed my instinct with this one (ex holder)!
